A message from Tony Allen, Stokes Tea Party Coordinator
The country our founders envisioned and created has been slowly disappearing for decades. This erosion is the result of a deliberate effort by those who believe freedom is to be passed to the people by the government, when the government believes it is in the best interest of the nation. Our founders believed liberty was an inalienable right granted to each of us by our Creator, beyond the control of any government.
Today, rather than defending our founding principles of individual freedom and encouraging the capitalist system that rewards and enables success for anyone who is willing to work to achieve it, our citizens are being told that every problem is best handled by a government bureaucracy. This mentality is contrary to the principles this country was founded on and that many thousands have died to protect.
The mission of the Stokes Tea Party is to attract, educate, organize, and mobilize our neighbors to secure public policy consistent with our three core values: Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government and Free Markets. We will achieve this through our individual and collective efforts and through collaboration with likeminded organizations across the country.
We are concerned about the future our children will face. Many of us have little or no previous experience in political matters but we are resigned to learn because we have come to recognize the consequences of standing on the sidelines. Contrary to what the media purports, we are not radical or racists. We are your neighbors. Our group consists of teachers, salesmen, entrepreneurs and bankers, lawyers and laborers. If you are concerned about the direction your country is heading, please join us.

Tea Party supporters are expected to conduct themselves in a civil and responsible manner, and to refrain from profanity, slander and personal attacks. Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated and comments encouraging any kind of illegal activities will not be allowed.

from Greensboro , Burlington, and Durham.
If you are interested please let us know and I will send you the details. Cost: $50.00
The trip will be up and back in one day (1:30am-1:00am) and the cost will cover the "standard" tip for the drivers and they will make sure there are sufficient provisions (i.e. bottled water, ice, snacks, & etc.) on the bus for us travelers. Each traveler is responsible for his/her meals. A breakfast and dinner stop will be made ( fast food). For more info on transportation contact Ramona by email: eartimm@gmail.com

You've been sitting on the sideline and watching what your government is doing to you with their out-of-control spending, putting your children & grandchildren in a debt they can never pay. Turning your country toward communism, destroying your liberty and freedom, raising your taxes, taking over private businesses, and the list just keeps growing. Your children, grandchildren and their decendants deserve better! How much will it take to wake you up? Your country needs you, so wake up and get up!

Stokes Tea Party Patriots met Tuesday night at the King Public Library.
The meeting room filled to capicity with a crowd of enthusiastic patriots ready for action. Scott Cumbie was the guest speaker and spoke about the constitution. There was enormous participation of everyone present with a lively discussiion about the future actions to be taken by the Stokes Tea Party Patriots.
A large number of those present volunteered to serve on committees. Top priority was getting citizens (not yet registered to vote) registered in time for this years election. Next in priority is to make citizens aware of early voting dates and locations. A full court press to educate the voters on how important this election is, if we are to preserve the principles on which this country was founded .
Many plan to work election day encouraging family, friends, neightbors and others all across the county to get out and vote for conservative minded candidates who support limited government, fiscal responsibility, individual freedom.
Next meeting is September 7th 2010 7:00 pm King Public Library.
